Though endowed with a blemishless character, the large hearted Krishnadasa entered her house. He saw the sixteen year old beautiful girl singing joyfully. Krishnadasa felt very happy to see her. He listened to her sweet music devoted to Shri krishna. Krishnadasa rewarded her adequately keenly listening to that music. Then he addressed her thus, happily.

There was a prostitute named Ranjani with a very charming face. She was an adept in dancing and had deep knowledge of the rules of raga and tala. She used to lure the hearts of men with a very look at them. With a humble disposition she acted according to the moods of the people who came to her with desire. She used to play on the Veena very melodiously, accompanied by her vocal recital through which she expressed the divine sports of Devi Radha and Lord Krishna in a very sweet tone.

Even an ignorant man can certainly become the most devoted servant of the holy feet of Lord Shri Krishna, if he attains the company of the sadhus due to some unknown fortune, and thereby gains purity of heart. Due to its contact with wind, a dust particle can reach the peak of a mountain. In the same way, even a low fool reaches the sacred abode of the Supreme Soul due to the contact of the great and noble men.

Having spoken thus, Shri Krishna, the dear child of Devaki, vanished in a second like lightning even when Shri Surdas was looking on. Affectionately looked after by Shri Vallabha, Surdas led a happy life on the back of the Yamuna, having Krishna kirtan as the only object of his life.

Oh! Govinda! You are seen in real form by my eyes which are very pure, which are beautified with the khajal of prem, and which have not seen any other thing in this world. Lord! I earnestly long to remain blind for ever. For, I do not want to see anything else after looking at You.

But as prem was the only passion with him, Surdas, the bhakta, uttered the following sweet words with hands folded over his head and tears of joy rolling from his eyes.

Shri Sadguru said

As He listened to these words of Shri Surdas, Bhagavan, Shri Krishna immediately blessed him with eye-sight so that he could see Him. The same moment Shri Surdas had the coveted darshan of Shri Shyamasundara, who appeared as follows. He appeared as a cowherd having the complexion of the black cloud. He was clad in a yellow silk garment and was captivatingly charming. He had the plume of the peacock adorning His head. He was playing sweetly on the flute. His chest was very broad, and His eyes were very beautiful like the lotus flowers. He was standing there in a very fascinating posture with three elegant curves in His body. He was embraced by Devi Radha. His person was rubbed with the paste of Hari chandan. His beauty stood on a par with that of a crore of Manmathas and He appeared as the very embodiment of perfect felicity. The mahatma Surdas was intoxicated with the ecstacy born out of the darshan of Shri Krishna. He started chanting melodiously His Divine Names and dancing.

Shri Surdas said

Oh! Deva! Please stop testing me. I have realized that You are Shri Nandakumara Himself. Oh, ocean of compassion! Please give Your darshan to this blind man. I do not have the strength of yoga and tapas. Shri Madhava! Shri Krishna! Please give me Your darshan as I have got the blessings of Shri Vallabha. Oh, ocean of mercy! The eye-sight that is useful to see only the living ghosts (ordinary men) who becomes a waste of Your darshan is not got face to face. Govinda! I do not regret my blindness. For I am wandering in the imaginary land of bliss oblivious to this world. Oh! Ocean of mercy! Madhava! You, who are inaccessible to the devas, are standing in front of me in real form. Yet, I am unable to see You since I am blind.
