न याचते परान्नं सः क्षुत्क्लान्तजठरोपि च | अकस्मादेव सम्प्राप्तमन्नमल्पमभक्षयत् || न सल्लापञ्च कुरुते न नृत्यति न गायति | सदा शोकाकुलमनाः क्वचिच्छिन्ताकुलोवसत् ||
Though tormented by hunger he would never beg for food. If he happened to get anything he would eat it. He gave up dancing, singing and enjoying the company of the adoring women. He used to sit in sorrow and shed tears always.
