प्रदर्श्य योगसिद्धिञ्च वञ्चयन्तश्च पामरान्   |
कामिनीकाञ्चनासक्ताः क्षिप्रमेव पतन्ति ते  ||
महात्मानस्तु सततं कृष्णकीर्तनतत्पराः  |
एकान्तिनो वसन्त्येव साधवः साधुचेष्तिताः ||
प्रदर्ष्यात्मागुणं सर्वं रञ्चयन्तश्च सञ्जनान्  |
हरिभक्तिं प्रयच्छन्ति सन्तो निःस्वार्थ जीवनाः  ||

The deceive the laymen showing their magic power. Soon they get destroyed and fall down due to their jealous longing for wealth and women. But those noble personalities incessantly engaged in Krishna Kirtan develop rectitude and seek solitary life. The selfless sadhus provide happiness to noble men through their virtuous life and instill in them devotion to Lord Hari.

उपेक्षन्ते महाभागाः साक्षान्मुक्तिमुपस्थिताम्  |
श्रीकृष्णसेवया पूर्णा भजनानन्दतत्पराः  ||  

Those fortunate great men who have experienced the glory of bhajan and service to Lord Krishna and have attained perfection ignore even salvation that stands very close to them

श्रीसद्गुरुरुवाच 

दुर्लभा योगसिद्धानामणिमाद्यष्टसिद्धयः |
विरक्तानां वैष्णवानां विलुठन्ति पदान्तिके ||

Shri Sadguru said

The great eight yogic feats like Anima, which are unreachable even to master yogis, bow down voluntarily at the feet of the detached vaishnavas

एवं हि श्यामदासोपि विचिन्वन् बालकं तथा  |
बृन्दावने विलोक्यैनं परमं हर्षमाप च  ||
चरितं ध्रुवदासस्य यः पठेच्छ्रुणुयान्नरः  |
स एव भाग्यवांल्लोके कृपापात्रं रमापतेः  || 

In the meantime Shyamadasa came to Shri Brindavan in search of the child. Seeing him thus he became immensely happy. He who reads or listens to the story of Dhruvadasa is the only fortunate man in this world. Only he becomes blessed with the mercy of Shri krishna the consort of Devi Radha.

Thus ends Chapter Seven entitled 'Dhruvadasa Charitam' of Book VI of Shri Vaishnava Samhita composed by Shri Shri Krishna Premi Swamigal.

ध्रुवदासोपि सहसा परमाश्चर्यसंयुतः  |
गोपीनाथमुपागत्य रुरोद विहिताञ्जलिः  ||
श्रीदेव्याःकरुणालेशात्सर्वं जानन् गुरूत्तमः  |
आदाय बालकं प्रेम्णा सान्त्वयामास सादरम्  ||
सन्ततं    कीर्तयन् कृष्णं राधावल्लभमच्युतम् |
दिव्यज्ञानेन सम्युक्तस्तत्रैवावसदर्भकः  ||

Dhruvadasa was astounded. Immediately he came to Gopinatha and wept standing in front of him with folded hands. That extraordinary guru knew everything that had happened due to the grace of Devi Radha. He took the child in his hands and consoled him. Dhuruvadasa who was endowed with divine knowledge resided  there itself, perenially engaged in the kirtan of Shri Krishna, the spouse of Devi Radha.

श्रीसद्गुरुरुवाच 

इत्युक्त्वा जगतां माता श्रीराधा करुणानिधिः  |
भूमौ विसृज्य तं बालं तत्रैवान्तर्दधे तदा  ||

Having spoken thus, the merciful Mother of the universe, Devi Radha, removed him from her lap and vanished.

आचार्यं शरणं गच्छ गोपीनाथमहाप्रभुम्  |
हरिवंशस्य तनयं कृष्णसेवापरायणम्  ||

Till the end of your life reside in this Brindavan. Surrender to Gopinatha, the divine son of Hitaharivamsha who is having service to Shri Krishna as his only object in life. Take him to be your guru.

ममैव कृपया बाल सर्वं मे दिव्यचेष्टितम्  |
सदा बृन्दावने पश्य दिव्यदृष्टिं ददामि ते  ||
स्वयमायाति सा देवी जिह्वायां तव भारती  |
आनन्दय महाभाग मामेवं कीर्तयन् सदा  ||

I shall open your inward eye. With My blessings you can see all My divine pastimes in this Brindavan. Oh, very fortunate child! Devi Saraswati will choose your tongue as Her dwelling place. Always sing in praise of Me.

श्रीदेव्युवाच 

मा कुरु त्वं तपो घोरं सुकुमारोसि बालक  |
शीघ्रमेव प्रभुः कृष्णःकरिष्यति कृपां त्वयि  ||
मद्दर्शनममोघं हि भक्तश्रेष्टोसि बालक  |
जानीहि मां महाबुद्धे साक्षाद्राधां हरिप्रियाम्  ||

Shri Devi replied

My child! Do not engage in such sever penance for you are very young. Lord Krishna will shower His grace on you very soon. Oh! Child! You seem to be a great devotee. My darshan will not go waste. Oh, intelligent one! Know Me as Devi Radha, the consort of Shri Krishna.

अस्मिन् महावने घोरे न भयं किञ्चिदस्ति मे   |
प्राप्तुमिच्छामि गोविन्दं मृत्युसंसारसागरात्  ||
तव संस्पर्शमात्रेण क्षुत्पिपासाश्रमश्च मे  |
मम दुःखेन महता स्वयमस्तङ्गतो बत  ||

I do not feel afraid of being alone in the forest. I long to reach ashore this ocean of samsara and attain Shri Govinda. My hunger, thirst, fatigue, and sorrow have all disappeared the very moment you touched me.

ध्रुवदास उवाच 

का त्वं जननि वात्सल्यात् करोषि प्रेमलालनम्  |
सुखञ्च वर्धयस्येवं पितृभ्यां रहितस्य मे   ||
ध्रुवस्य चरितं श्रुत्वा कृष्णदर्शनकाङ्क्षया  |
अहमागतवानत्र तपःकर्तुं दृढव्रतः  ||

Dhruvadasa said

Oh! Mother! Who are you? You are showering affection on me, an orphan, and giving me such a great pleasure. Inspired by the story of young Dhruva, I developed a great desire to have Krishna darshan. With unaltered faith I have come here to do penance.

दिव्यसौन्दर्यसम्युक्तां वासन्तीकुसुमोज्ज्वलाम्  |
सर्वसद्गुणसंपूर्णां सर्वाभरणभूषिताम्   ||
मातरं सर्वजगतां सरसीरुहलोचनाम्  |
काञ्चीकलापपर्यस्तां क्वणत्कनकनूपुराम्  || 
वात्सल्यपूर्णवचनां वनितागणसेविताम्  |
कज्जलालिप्तनयनां करुणारससंभृताम्   ||
आत्मानं सान्त्वयन्तीञ्च लालयन्तीं मुहुर्मुहुः |  
अपृच्छत् प्रेमसम्युक्तो ध्रुवदासो विलोक्य ताम्  ||

Dhruvadasa looked at Devi Radha who had exhilarating divine beauty and exemplary qualities. The Mother of all the worlds was lustrous like the Vaasanti flower and was adorned with many glittering ornaments like a golden girdle and tinkling anklets. Her lotus eyes were beautified with kajal. She was surrounded by Her friends. Her heart filled with compassion, she was consoling him with kind words. Looking at Her with immeasurable love, Dhruvadasa put the following question with great devotion.

क्षुत्क्लान्तजठरं दीनं प्ररुदन्तञ्च बालकम्  |
आह्वयन्तं लोकनाथमनाथमिव संस्थितम्   ||
विलोक्य ध्रुवदासं तमस्त्राकुलविलोचना  |
अङ्के निधाय कृपया सान्त्वयामास राधिका  || 

Devi Radha saw him lying there like an orphan, stricken with hunger, crying and calling out the Lokanatha. Seeing the condition of that child Devi Radha became very sad. Keeping him on her lap consoled him.

तमालमूले तत्रैव पतितो मूर्च्छितःशिशुः  |
दिनत्रयमनाहारस्तपश्चक्रे ध्रुवो यथा   ||
वनशोभेक्षणायैवं सञ्चरन्ती सखीजनैः   |
जगतां जननी राधा तं ददर्श यदृच्छया   ||

He fainted there and was lying under a big Tamala tree starving for three days. Thus he was engaged in penance like Dhruva. Unexpectedly Devi Radha, the Mother of the universe, who was going round the forest to enjoy its serene beauty, happened to see him.

मार्गेषु प्ररुदन् बालः कृष्ण कृष्णोति कीर्तयन्  |
येनकेनापि मार्गेण बृन्दावनमुपागतः   ||
प्रविश्य स महारण्यं जनसञ्चारवर्जितम्  |
क्षुत्क्लान्तजठरो बालो नितरां प्ररुरोद ह  ||

Young Dhurvadasa was crying and calling for Shri Krishna all the way. With great difficulty he reached Shri Brindavan. Reaching a vast, desolate forest that child started weeping due to hunger.

अहमद्यैव सहसा संप्राप्य यमुनावनम्   |
द्रक्ष्यामि करुणासिन्धुं संसारभयनाशनम्  || 
बहुधा चिन्तयन्नेवं बालकः पञ्चहायनः  |
पितरौ वञ्चयन् सद्यः प्रतस्थे यमुनावनम्   ||

'I am going to reach Shri Brindavan now itself to get the darshan of Shri Krishna, the repository of compassion, who alone has the power to dispel the fear of samsara.' That five year old child thought so and left for Shri Brindavan without the knowledge of his parents.

गच्छन्त्यहर्निशं मर्त्याः पापक्रुत्यैर्यमालयम्  |
न जानन्ति परं क्षेममहो लोकस्य मूढता  ||
कः पिता का च माता मे को बन्धुः किं गृहञ्च मे  | 
कालेन वञ्च्यमानस्य सर्वं मिथ्यैव दृश्यते    ||

Daily many reach the abode of Yama due to their sins. They never understand what is good for them and what is not. Alas! What a foolish world this is! 'Who is my father? Who is my mother? Who is my relative? Which is my house? Everything that is fickle and short lived seems to be an illusion to my eyes.
