He was a farmer, and was very contented despite his poverty. With firm devotion to Shrinatha, he was leading a life free from cares and worries. He used to sing in the assembly of the bhaktas with tearful eyes, to the accompaniment of Veena and Mridangam. He imbibed the sweet essence of the divine sports of Shrinatha, and composed many melodious songs.

Many progenitors are there, who have paved the path of Vaishnava Dharma. Kumbhadasa, the great bhagavata, was one among them. He was endowed with all noble qualities. He was a disciple of Shri Vallabha, and was whirling round the lotus feet of Shrinatha like a bee.

The great bhaktas have Krishna bhakti as their only asset. Even when they are actually very poor, they do not care for the rish people who are proud of their wealth. The desire for gold and lust for women destroy the bhakti towards Shri Krishna. Hence one should remain contented with his lot and should possess unaltering love for his wife. The comfort and happiness that the bhaktas who lead a simple life nurturing devotion to Shri Nandakumara, enjoy, are not attained by any wealthy man. Hence, we should earn our livelihood, taking up some occupation and spend our time pondering on the Purushottama with firm belief.

Having spoken thus, she fell again at the holy feet of Shrinatha. And when all the devotees there were looking on, she breathed her last. All were struck with wonder to see a ray of light emerging from her elegant body, and reaching the holy feet of Shri Krishna. Despite being a prostitute, she could reach the holy feet of the Lord in a split moment. That was due to the association of Shri Krishnadasa, which she was fortunate enough to attain. Hoe can one describe the greatness of the glory of that sadgu Shri Krishnadasa.

Thus ends Chapter Six entitled 'Shri Krishnadasa Charitam' of Book VII of Shri Vaishnava Samhita composed by Shri Shri Krishna Premi Swamigal.

Oh! Shrinatha! Lord of Devi Rama! Oh, Master! The Lord of the rasikas! Lord of my soul! Govinda! Please bless me, Your servant-maid and devotee, with one glance of Your eyes. I surrender at Your feet my beauty, my youth, my love for arts and my capacity for enjoying beautiful things, my talent of dancing, my body, my life, my voice, and my power of speech. Gopala! I am your slave. I shall not even look at any other man hereafter. Please cast Your merciful glance on me who have taken refuge in You. Whom other than you, the Purushottama and the most handsome in all the worlds, can a beautiful girl like me love? Nandakumara! Madhava! I offer myself to You. Please take me to Your holy feet. I am a slave of Yours, and have no other refuge.

Ranjani could not take her eyes off the blossomed face of Shri Krishna, resembling a beautiful lotus. Once she had been under the spell of lust. Now she came under the spell of devotion. Tears were dripping from her eyes. Astounded with the darshan of Lord Shrinatha, she stood there in His Sanctum like a statue. Inspired by the devoted Krishnadasa, she started dancing with great devotion to Lord Krishna. She could capture the mood of Shri Krishnadasa filled with loving devotion. She made Shrinatha happy with her dance, and submitted herself at His holy feet as an offering.

Not realising the piety of Krishnadasa, the girl followed him thinking that his master was an ordinary man. Taking her to the peak of the Govardhana Hill, he showed her Shrinatha seated in the beautiful shrine and said, "Look at my Master". She was astonished to see there unexpectedly Lord Shrinatha, who was standing on a par with a crore of Manmathas in His beauty and grace. Even a person who just listens to the stories connected with Shrinatha gets attracted towards Him. Then, what to say of this girl Ranjani, who had seen Him in front of her?

There was a prostitute named Ranjani with a very charming face. She was an adept in dancing and had deep knowledge of the rules of raga and tala. She used to lure the hearts of men with a very look at them. With a humble disposition she acted according to the moods of the people who came to her with desire. She used to play on the Veena very melodiously, accompanied by her vocal recital through which she expressed the divine sports of Devi Radha and Lord Krishna in a very sweet tone.

Even an ignorant man can certainly become the most devoted servant of the holy feet of Lord Shri Krishna, if he attains the company of the sadhus due to some unknown fortune, and thereby gains purity of heart. In the same way, even a low fool reaches the sacred abode of the Supreme Soul due to the contact of the great and noble men.
